“Sou” is a project on the edge. Most of the time challenges are being presented on the edge of what the client wants and what is the vision of the design team. This relationship can be seen clearly on the western facade of the project. It is located on the side
of a somewhat newly constructed road, and neighbouring buildings shows a very chaotic construction in the area. Also, the client requested that business units being placed alongside residential units which created a mixture of architectural inconsistency in the program. Designers approach in this instance trying to find a solution by moving outwards from within. The result of this method can be seen as separability design form in the format of “Part” and “whole”. One example of this design can be observed in the design of the surfaces (walls), that can be perceived as floating alongside several stacked volumetric objects.
